Nicknamed Takuan-dera, this is a Hidden Gem.
Sukyoji Temple was restored for the Izushi Clan by Priest Takuan. It became known as Takuan Temple (yes, the yellowish daikon pickle) after Shogun Iemitsu praised his pickle and the name became Taku...
A temple where Kazuhisa Sawaan spent his time with his name on pickles. It is also called Sawaanji Temple. It is also the family temple of Mr. Senya, the lord of Izushi domain. You can visit the precincts at an admission fee, but the garden itself seems to be very normal.
A temple in the castle town of Izushi Castle. There is "Tobuchiken" where Kazuhisa Sawaan spent eight years from the age of 48. The gardens such as Tsurukame's garden and Shinji no Ike pond are also wonderful.
There are two temples, "Sokyoji" and "Ganjoji", on Mt. Irisa, at the eastern end of Izushi Castle Town. Both are spectacular temples. Sokyoji Temple is nicknamed Sawaanji Temple because it is the home of Sawaan Kazuhisa, and the garden is especially famous.
Since it is a temple related to Mr. Yamana, the Yamana clan is connected to the imperial family, so a piece of costume that His Majesty the Emperor will wear when he ascended the throne was displayed. The temple had a history and the garden was wonderful. If you come to Izushi, please go.
