    Friendly little museum

This is located in Tokiwa Park and is worth a visit. It celebrates the link with Newcastle NSW. The view from the top also makes it worthwhile.

and you can see a little bit about coal mines.

It was surprisingly interesting to be able to visit for free, and there was also an observatory. I found out that the area around Ube was a coal town. The facility is not so big, so I think it would be enough to have 1 time. I don't remember whether the coal mine was reproduced or left, but it was good because there was a tunnel in the small facility. It's not far from the nearest station, but I went a little (quite) lost.

The observatory using the pit turret was conspicuous.

Ube was once a town that made a leap forward by the coal industry and was called "charcoal capital". This coal memorial hall was a good place to understand the coal industry of Ube. The Coal Memorial Hall was built in Tokiwa Park, which is located a little north of Yamaguchi Ube Airport, and the white and orange turret turret was well noticed. From the observatory that utilizes this turret turret, you can see not only Lake Tokiwa and Tokiwa Park, but also the Seto Inland Sea.

Ube was once a coal mine town.

There was a coal memorial hall near Tokiwa Zoo. By the way, the memory of learning that coal could be harvested in this area has been revived. You can enter this coal memorial hall for free. The history of the Ube coal field and machines and tools for mining coal were exhibited in the hall. It is said that this facility opened in 1944, two years after the closing of the mountain, in this area, the birthplace of the Ube coal field.

this is the betania based model!?

    Original Text

The Coal Memorial Hall in the corner of Tokiwa Park was the most interesting tourist spot in Ube. I was surprised that I had been mining coal since the Edo period, and I was digging the ground with a mechanism like a human power plant that appeared in the Hokuto fist, and that coal mines were stretched out into the sea. Ube is the hometown of Evangelion's director Anno, but maybe Nelph is in the basement, or the scene where the apostles fought against the temporary Unit 5 on the Betania base due to "breaking" is The tunnel here became a model ...
