Gaojia Residence

As a home in the light of Mingzhi, it is a well-preserved courtyard in the southeast of Xingcheng Ancient City, a courtyard in the Republic of China, covering an area of about 4,000 square meters. There is a 10-meter-long photo wall outside the south wall, with exquisite patterns such as Danfeng Chaoyang. The West Courtyard "Libentang" is a residential house, 18 main houses, east-west wing rooms, east-west ear rooms and porter rooms; the east side "Gion" is the garden, there are octagonal pavilions, rockery, fish ponds and the largest ginkgo tree in Liaoxi, century-old trees. After General Yu Lian discharged his armor and returned to the field, he lived here with his wife until 1947. The Chinese and Western buildings, doors and windows, indoor floor tiles and some brick carvings are Western style, and the overall layout of the house is a simple and thick courtyard.

郜家住宅始建于1926年，是兴城古城保存最完好的民国时期建筑群，建筑风格堪称中西合璧。郜家住宅为一进四合院，正北是正房五间，中间三间出廊抱柱，郜将军将门厅取名“立本堂”。与正房相连的东西耳房各一间。郜家花园，也就是“么园”，这里绿草如茵，古树参天，园中有很多树种和花木，如家槐、榆树、柳树，银杏、橡树等树木。是一个清新雅致的花园。是具有民国时期辽西地区上等官绅宅院建筑风格的民居。此外，郜家住宅与沈阳张氏帅府并称辽宁省两大民国将领故居建筑群，号称“北张南郜”，具有较高的欣赏价值。
