It is a relocated farmhouse in the heavy snowfall area of Niigata Prefecture and is located in Kamibayashi Onsen. Furniture, which is indispensable for life in heavy snowfall areas, was exhibited in the hall. The building that withstood the wind and snow was also quite impressive. Unfortunately it seems that the museum is closed now. I would like to wait for the day of reopening.
It is on the right side of the slope from the bus stop at the entrance of Kamibayashi Onsen. The building itself is spectacular, which is a relocated house of an existing wealthy farmer in Matsunoyama Town, Niigata Prefecture, one of the largest snowfall areas in Japan. Unfortunately, it seems to be closed in winter. It was unavoidable because this area was also a heavy snowfall area.
A historic memorial hall in the heavy snowfall area that you often stop by on the way back from a ski trip to Shiga Kogen. The house of a landlord built in the Edo period was relocated here in Yutanaka, but I am interested in the fact that it is so solid that I can't think it was built very long ago. Inside, the old house itself, kitchens, living rooms, etc. are exhibited, and 2F has a gallery where signboards, old tools, play tools, etc. are exhibited. Parking is free and right next to the museum.
