Assumption Cathedral Photos

The Assumption Church was built in 1821 and was designed and built by the French. The chapel adopts a relatively high rectangular structure, with red bricks on the outer wall and surrounding white buildings. The tall square tower flanks the main entrance. A high ceiling inside has many ornate decorations attached. The rose windows of the church are flanked by a pair of towers. The Rococo-style interior is very ornate, and its main decoration is the blue barrel-vaulted ceiling with golden stars on the ceiling. Photography is not allowed inside. Opposite the church is a tree-lined pedestrian square with several European-style buildings. These include the Assumption College and the Assumption Convent.
