I have lived in The Avenues all my life and hadn&#39;t got around to visiting Ida so I talked my husband into a visit. It was very busy so always book if you want to go here. Service was great - very friendly. We got the sharing board to start which was delicious but could have been a bit bigger. Maybe less olives and a few more slices of meat? Maybe a couple of slices of bread chucked in too? Maybe we are just greedy?! For mains I had the Vension special which was absolutely gorgeous; rich and flavoursome. The pasta was fab. My husband had the tagliatelle with pork &amp; beef ragu - he said it was nice but not enough sauce for his liking. We had a lovely bottle of red with our meal and had an enjoyable night.

Been visiting this restaurant for past 30 years (we live locally) since it was called Geetas and the food is always excellent. Freshly cooked and a great menu. Staff are lovely. Would recommend.

The restaurant might not look particularly outstanding (outside), however once you walk in, it feels good right away. Good music in the background, enough space between tables and nice decor all around.Lady who served us that afternoon was very pleasant, explaining different positions in the menu (once asked).I ordered Feijoada with rice and my wife had Prawns Strogonoff.Both dishes were fresh with great flavours and decent size. Topped up with nice sides and drinks, there was nothing to complain about.On the contrary, we praised the food and service alike.We would definitely come back and strongly recommend this place for lunch or dinner to any fans of authentic Brazilian cuisine.Thank you.

Best restaurant in town, now only take away, but worth every penny. We love this place, the top class Italian chef owner cares about customers staff and food quality.

I visited with my Uncle who has lived in the next street for 72 years and we were talking about relatives who used to live next door, how the restaurant used to be a greengrocers etc. and how it always looks like it&#39;s empty or shut but that he&#39;d read a review of it in the paper and so we thought we&#39;d give it a shot. Compact and bijou, dusky lighting and quaint table settings, we were welcomed as we arrived, first guests of the evening on a Thursday night. The initial service was friendly and efficient, with an interesting, if small, menu, with an additional &#39;povoro&#39; menu for midweek specials (a pasta dish and a glass of wine for a tenner - can&#39;t go wrong!). However, after a short while the place started to fill up and after that the service slowed considerably, to the point that we were left for over 20 minutes whilst trying to get their attention to ask for the dessert menu. At the same time, the lady we assumed was the owner, was seated with people at the next table to us discussing catering for an upcoming event but did not notice we were waiting. Small gripe aside, the food was wonderful, hearty, tasty and filling. We had the gorgonzola gnocchi and the mixed ragout spaghetti. Followed by a strawberry lemon tart and several ice cold Morettis, and a glass of wine, the meal was brilliant value at &pound;41 + service. I would definitely return.

I think they had some new staff, so perhaps they will improve with time, but not a friendly and welcoming vibe you would expect in such a small place. Food was good, but if you only serve 5 or so dishes in total for main course - it should be fantastic. In my opinion they are probably used to being told they are great, and have let it get to their heads a bit........
