Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center, located in Dashu District, Kaohsiung City, is the most representative Buddhist holy site and international-level museum in southern Taiwan. The park blends traditional and modern architectural aesthetics, with the Buddha's relics enshrined at its core. It also boasts Asia's tallest seated bronze Buddha statue (108 meters high) and is open to the public free of charge. The park's core attractions and visitor flow are generally from east to west. Crossing the main axis leads to the main buildings: The Hall of Reverence: The park's entrance, featuring a variety of dining options (vegan and vegetarian), a café, and a souvenir shop. Wheelchair rental and information services are also available. The Avenue of Enlightenment: Lined with eight Chinese-style pagodas (from the First Religion Pagoda to the Eighth Path Pagoda), each pagoda offers a different theme and digital multimedia experiences (such as a children's area and 3D films). Shaded walkways are provided on both sides for sun protection. Bodhi Plaza: A large public plaza with Buddhist murals on the surrounding walls, perfect for pausing to appreciate traditional stories. Large-scale parades are frequently held during festivals. The Buddha Memorial Center Main Building: The main building's exterior is modeled after the Mahabodhi Temple and Borobudur in Bodh Gaya, India. First Floor: Contains permanent exhibitions (such as the fully renovated Fo Guang Shan Buddhist History Museum), the Guanyin Hall, and the Jade Buddha Hall (enshrining relics). Second and Third Floors: Include a Buddhist art exhibition hall and a sutra copying pavilion where visitors can experience calligraphy.
