A beautiful cathedral steeped in history. It boasts a vast and beautiful portico, said to be the largest in Europe (this fact has not been verified). You can see munition holes from the war, and although it was nearly destroyed in the 1937 bombing, it has been beautifully restored. If you're passing through Durango, this is a must-see. By the way, the selection of tapas laid out before you is a true luxury.

This building dates back to the Middle Ages. Today, the church retains two architectural remains: one Gothic-Renaissance structure, which includes the sanctuary, three pointed windows, star-shaped vaults, towers, and choir stalls. The other is Baroque-Classical, with an interior adorned with crosses and Corinthian pilasters. The church has three naves. The central nave is taller and wider than the side naves, with a polygonal apse and a vaulted star pattern. The side naves are covered with simple cross vaults. The main entrance features a simple, Classical portico. Another entrance, located on the episcopal side, is protected by a wooden portico. Highlights of the church's interior include the main altarpiece by sculptor Martín Ruiz de Zubiate.
