When morning mist rose from the water, rime frost coated the trees, and cattle slowly waded across the river — it felt surreal. It was like stepping into a winter oil painting.

📍 Where is it?
Inside Arxan National Forest Park, Inner Mongolia, about a 1-hour drive from the city. Thanks to underground geothermal heat, this river never freezes — even at -40°C. At dawn, mist rises from the water, making it the most magical sight on the snowy plain.

📸 Best Photo Spots

· River bend overlook: Head to the viewing platform for a sweeping view of the winding river wrapped in mist. Arrive 30 minutes before sunrise for the softest light.
· Riverside pasture: Walk downstream to where cattle often gather. Use a telephoto lens to compress the scene — cattle, frost, and mist all in one frame.
· Rime frost close-ups: Backlit branches along the river sparkle like crystal. Pair with rising mist for a fairy-tale shot.
