#mytravelwrap Compared to Guilin, I Love This Underrated Secluded Town in Guizhou Even More! From the "compared to Guilin" angle, the town you're referring to is most likely Xingyi, Guizhou. Many call it a hidden gem with "too much afterglow" — its peak forest is grander than Guilin's, with far fewer people. Why Xingyi wins · Completely different scale: Guilin's karst peaks rise individually; Xingyi's Wanfenglin is over 20,000 cone-shaped peaks stretching like a sea. Xu Xiake's famous line — "So many peaks under heaven, but only here do they form a forest" — describes this place. · More relaxed: You don't need a ticket to enjoy it. Rent an e-bike (~50 yuan/day) and cruise through Nahui Village's rice fields and Bouyei villages — far more comfortable than squeezing onto a Guilin bamboo raft. · Richer terrain: Beyond the peaks, there's Maling River Gorge (called "Earth's most beautiful scar," with hundreds of hanging waterfalls), emerald Wanfeng Lake, and Jilong Castle on an island in the lake. If you meant somewhere else Guizhou has other similarly secluded towns: · Libo: "Earth's green gem" Xiaoqikong, forest coverage over 71%, great for a lung-cleansing retreat. · Bijiang (Tongren): Underrated district at the foot of Fanjing Mountain, Jinjiang River through town, 600-year-old Zhongnanmen Ancient City. · Sandu: China's only Shui ethnic autonomous county — Shui script, horsetail embroidery, and "village horse racing."
