Here’s the lowdown: First, fly into Cusco (Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, Avenida Velasco Astete, Cusco, Peru). From there, you’ve got options: Option 1: Take the scenic train ride! The main ones, PeruRail or Inca Rail, whisk you away from either Poroy or Ollantaytambo directly to Aguas Calientes, the town at Machu Picchu’s base. Trains run multiple times a day—peak season fills up fast, so book on trip.com ahead of time! 🚂 Option 2: Feel like channeling your inner explorer? Trek the classic Inca Trail! This epic 4-day hike starts near Ollantaytambo and ends with sunrise over those world-famous ruins. It’s a challenging trek but absolutely worth the effort for those sunrise feels. 🌅 Note: Permits are limited, so reserve early!
