Renshou was known in ancient times as Lingzhou. Today it is under the administration of Meishan City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the hilly west-central area of the Sichuan Basin. Natural resources abound, and there are enormous deposits of coal and limestone here. Major tourist attractions include the Kuixing Pagoda, Shuangshi Memorial Arch, Renshou Grand Buddha, and Heilongtan (“Black Dragon Shore”) Scenic Area. It is worth mentioning that the Renshou Grand Buddha served as the model for the construction of the Leshan Giant Buddha.
