Xinyang City is located in the southern part of Henan Province and is an important transportation hub. It is also the birthplace of China's famous tea, Xinyang Maojian. Xinyang boasts attractive scenery and is a great summer resort with Jigong Mountain, a national scenic spot. Jigong Mountain has beautiful scenery and is full of unique peaks and rock formations. There is also a national-level forest park, Nanwan Lake, the "Pearl of Southern Henan." On the upper reaches of the lake are scenic areas such as the Longtan Waterfalls and Five Yunshan Mountains.
