No.5 of Fine Dining  in Vienna

On the first day of arriving in Vienna, I had dinner with local friends at the 1870 Western Restaurant on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Vienna. From the name, you can guess that it is an old Austrian restaurant founded in 1870. The environment is elegant, the space is open, there is live piano performance, and the dining atmosphere is extremely pleasant. It definitely lives up to the reputation of the music capital. The service is thoughtful and comprehensive, the ordering and serving efficiency is extremely high, the dish presentation and taste are extremely excellent, the black truffle configuration is very generous, and the food is not much inferior to the music.

I believe the place is nice and cozy, but you get confused by the fact it&#39;s not clear when you book that at specific times brunch is the only option. Further to me the food is far from being Japanese in the strict sense. Service is great.

Food is very good but there is a construcion site near the restaurant and because that it it extrem noisly.

What a nice place. The ambiance was exceptional and the service was pretty good. We came here for an upscale and a more private experience for my wife&#39;s birthday and we weren&#39;t disappointed. Wines by the glass were exceptional for white wine and we had a very reasonably priced bottle of Spanish Rioja that was excellent. The food menu is not extensive and somewhat eclectic, so check the menu beforehand to avoid being disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our entrees and appetizers.

The steak and the french fries are the best we tasted in city and the service from LASZLO was fantastic, he was very attentive and kind! We liked so much that we came back twice during our travel.

We are group of Indians had taken our Austrian customers for dinner. The spice level was customised to Austrian standards and they loved the food. I&rsquo;m happy that I recommended the restaurant and no regrets. Already shared our experiences with other Austrian friends

The staff was polite throughout our dinner, the food arrived quickly to our table. We chose Tika Masala and Butter Chicken both with rice and the portions were very good. Both dishes were delicious! We recommend the place with prior reservation!

From the website pictures we were expecting a more modern fusion Indian menu but since the website did not have a menu or an English translation it was hard to know what to expect. The food was excellent traditional Indian and good portion size.

The Unkai is a perfect location to go after a concert in the Musikverein. All perfect: it&lsquo;s near, the food is excelent an the service staff very kind!

We went here with friends from out of town. The ambiance was very nice. Though it was full, it was remarkably quiet. The lights were low but not dark and the atmosphere was cozy. We had the salmon on a bed of vegetables (requested no rice) and it was very tasty. We would definitely return!
