I&#39;ve been a regular at this beautiful restaurant! Owen who  owned this restaurant for along time sadly sold but let me say the service food etc is absolutely amazing! They have done him proud!

Rubicon

A month in advance, finally booked Carmel&#39;s most famous Michelin restaurant Aubergine. Very creative French + Japanese full course. This kind of display can really be mouth-watering, but the price is quite expensive.

Timmy&#39;s kitchen Fresh flounder, the meat is fine and juicy, but the taste is too strong, a bit awkward. Lobster crab sink, in fact, it is fried, similar to the food stall, slippery garlic oyster, skin is very fragrant roast chicken.

Food was good but served on very cold plates combined with air conditioner that was very cold and could not be adjusted from inside the restaurant meant the food became cold very quickly.I would have preferred to eaten the meal slowly but cold curry is not great.

The food was excellent, we could not fault any of the dishes we had.

I wouldn&#39;t go past Rubicon for extra special occasions.  We were celebrating a 70th and 40th birthday last night - as for mine, I insist on celebrating it at the Rubicon every year - I can&#39;t wait ten!  Everything was perfect as always, and the steak was to die for - always an indication of a good chef.

My wife and I have been in Canberra for over fifty years but this is the first time we had attended the restaurant . We were prompted to do so by a voucher purchased over your website by family in Melbourne and gifted to us for Christmas. On our visit we were unable to consume sufficient food and drink for the full value of the voucher.  When we requested to carry forward the balance to another evening we were told that was not permitted and we had to forego the balance. I decided instead to pay by credit card and use the voucher on another occasion when we will dine with friends.  I was advised by those who purchased the voucher that failure to permit the carry forward the unused balance, which is a normal commercial practice did not appear as a condition when the voucher was purchased on your website.  This made for a disappointing evening as we were celebrating a special occasion.  Thus the next time we dine at Rubicon it will be because we have to use the voucher not because we want to and we will not return again for further visits.

Great location, ambiance, staff attention and demeanour. Food quality and presentation very good. Some of the main meals portion sizes were on the small side (seafood main, cod, is entree size). Good for a special occasion, however for the prices charged and considering our experience, seems expensive.
