-swenty-.

The buildings in Hangzhou China Academy of Fine Arts are scattered, mostly in the form of big traditional Chinese courtyards. They are very harmonious with the surrounding vegetation and water features. I heard from local people that when they built these Jiangnan buildings, they were very careful to maintain, the original farmland, streams and fish ponds of the site. The buildings are sensitively twisted and skewed with the mountains and waters. Simple brick walls, stone walls, rammed earth walls, cement plastered natural walls, simple masonry. The way, changing with nature, let life return to the original quiet beauty.  The Red Brick Museum (International Design Museum), which has just been completed this year, has become a new favourite of the public. It represents another style that is completely different from other beautiful East-style buildings. The sharp and straight corners of the building reflect the feeling of the China International Design Museum “Western Modern Design with Bauhaus as the core”. I heard that the red sandstones will show different colours on sunny and rainy days!
