Stift Melk, with its numerous treasures, is a Benedictine monastery on the rocky hills of Melk, overlooking the Danube. is part of the World Heritage Wachau Valley. The monastery has always been a bastion of learning, and its library has the greatest medieval manuscripts in the world. Mek Abi survived the religious reform and occupation of Napoleon and Hitler and was the longest-running Benedictine abbey in the world. As a premier abbey academy with more than 900 students, even today, you can often see black robe monks at work. The Abbey Park and Gardens are located behind the Melk Abbey and were only opened to the public in 2000. As an area where monks relax, gardens and gazebos are an interesting combination of form and whimsy. The park itself has an original English garden and a casual medicinal garden dotted with sculptures. This blend of styles extends to a marshmallow baroque pavilion featuring exotic animals and whimsical murals from the jungle. As you stroll through the gardens, you can also enjoy panoramic views of the Danube and the idyllic countryside of Austria numerical stories happening here, and countless people are here. Inside the library and church inside , you can't take photos. Tickets should not be lost, you need to check in the garden. Go down to the bridge and take a panoramic view.
