Well worth the walk (and I do recommend walking).  The walk along Presidio Beach offers subtle perspective changes when viewing the Golden Gate bridge.  The day I visited, the weather was clear and the skies were blue, offering a stunning backdrop evrey step of the way.  My travel time from the Marina end of the park to Fort Point was probably doubled due to excessive photo taking!
