Qingdao Post and Telecommunication Museum Photos

Qingdao Museum of Posts and Telecommunications is adjacent to the trestle bridge. It is a European-style building with a red exterior wall. It is the earliest existing post and telecommunications business building in Qingdao. Here you can visit all kinds of interesting old-fashioned telephones, see Kong Xiangxi's office restored from the 1920s, and don't forget to write a postcard to your future self. The building where the Qingdao Post and Telecommunications Museum is located was built in 1901 and used to be the old post office of the German Empire in Jiaoao. At present, the museum can mainly visit the first, second and fourth floors: the lobby on the first floor restores the scene of the old post office at the beginning of the last century; the second floor is the exhibition hall for historical objects and materials; the fourth floor is the attic with a cafe. As soon as you walk into the museum, you feel like you have traveled to the old post office a hundred years ago. The high window fences, quaint wooden tables and chairs are full of history. Today it operates a slow-delivery post office, and you can write a postcard and send it to your future self. There can be a service to save letters here, and the time to send can be a year later, or it can be five years, ten years, or even further into the future. The second floor is the exhibition area of the museum. Thousands of pictures here show people the urban changes of Qingdao over the past 100 years and the development of the communication industry. The museum also displays telephones from more than 20 countries in different periods. The most precious one is the magnet wall-mounted telephone produced by Ericsson in 1905. It is exquisite in craftsmanship, and its shape is like the roof of a church. The fourth floor is a German-style attic with an all-wood structure. The inner ring wall is made of wood. The dark wood color and the miscellaneous beams and columns are surrounded by mottled deposits that have been deposited for more than a hundred years. There is a German-style coffee bar on the fourth floor, where you can drink coffee or have a cup of dark beer, which is quite sentimental.
