Albert Square is located at the junction of the inner new city and outer new city of Dresden, the center of the semicircular area on the north bank of the Elbe, so all nine roads radiated from here can reach the north bank of the Elbe, and the roads form rings around the square. Five tram lines stop here. The Dresden New Town railway station where long-distance trains stop is located in Silesia Square a few hundred metres west of Albert Square.
