The Atkinson Clock Tower is one of the oldest and very few structures in Sabah that survived the wreckage caused by World War II. Situated on a bluff along Signal Hill Road, this wooden clock tower was built in 1905 in memory of Francis George Atkinson. He was the first District Officer of Jesselton during the British North Borneo Chartered Company Administration. Till this very day, the clock still functions perfectly and keeps time for the people of Kota Kinabalu.
