A must for all those interested in early Thai and Southeast Asian culture, the museum offers art and cultural artifacts with in-depth background and explanations for all exhibits. English (and other languages) are offered.

loved this museum, I have a great interest in Buddhist art particularly, but even if you don’t, this museum is worth a visit. lots of info, in both English and Thai, and many exhibitions on Thai history, royalty and Buddhism. Tickets are 200baht each, and worth every penny. it’s also a good way to escape the heat for a few hours, if you find the heat difficult.

After all the walking, up and down stairs and between builduings there us a small family run Thai restaurant, extremely affordable and with good food (recommended their Pad Thai)

and to learn much more than expected about Thai art, culture and history. Strongly recommended! The private tours can be booked, free of charge. I like museums but unfortunately I wasted a couple of hours of my life I won’t get back.
