Bori Bridge Review

The Bori Bridge is 36 kilometers north of Xinlong County and is built on the fast-flowing Yaqi River. The Bori Bridge was built in 1844 and designed by Tibetan architect Tang Tongjib. The bridge is 125 meters long, 3 meters wide and 60 meters across. The whole bridge is not connected with a nail, but is all connected by a sputum. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), a Tibetan folk architect named Mot Yama in the township of Laxi, New Longjia, was ordered to undertake the maintenance of the Bori Bridge. Through months of efforts, Yama led the Tibetan people to take the snow and snow to the cold, and repaired the bridge on the basis of preserving the original historical appearance of the Bori Bridge. In June 1936, the Red Four Fronts and the Red Sixth Army went north through the Bori Bridge after the New Dragon League Division. The local people have since affectionately called the bridge the Red Army Bridge.
