Super cool old school technology. The heart of the whole SF cable car system, with views of all the key components actually operating and running the system... the cables, the wheels, all the gears, etc. Lots of historic pictures of the cable cars and SF in general. Recommended to everybody, but I think nerds in particular will especially appreciate it.

This is a little-known gem in San Francisco. This museum not only tells the history behind these famous cable cars, but also offers the opportunity to actually watch the cable car work. It was a truly remarkable project. Tickets are free, worth a visit, you can take the cable car! This is a museum for all ages.

San Francisco Cable Car Museum San Francisco Cable Car Museum is also the main departure point for the three remaining cable cars in downtown San Francisco. Here visitors can visit the world's first cable car in 1873 (invented by Hide in 1873) and the principles of the operation of the cable car. You can also buy a model of the cable car at the gift shop. Taking a cable car (also known as a tuk-tuk) in downtown San Francisco is also a unique travel experience, and visitors to San Francisco will probably come to experience it.

This is an attractive place. It doesn’t take long depending on whether you’re a researcher and need to read every piece of technical information, but half an hour is still plenty. It really helps you understand how the cable car works and it shows the history very well. Entrance is free and the entrance is on the right side of the cable car line. There is a great and quirky little cafe in the opposite corner. Also stop by when you visit!

Very interesting museum, maybe because of the trams like this in San Francisco, this cable car museum attracts a lot of visitors, the cable car is relatively classical, very characteristic of the times
