Decent museum. I liked the old Christchurch town that you could walk through and the paua house. Haven't been back since the quake but would like to check out the Canterbury Quakes Exhibition that they currently have on.

To travel to Christchurch, you should visit the Canterbury Museum. The appearance and connotation are worth seeing. Appearance. The museum in the city center, next to the botanical garden. The gray-bottomed white-framed buildings are both elegant and dazzling. In front of the museum is a statue of William Ralston, a distinguished politician and leader in Canterbury. The figure is lifelike. Connotation. Compared with China, the museum is medium-sized. But the rich and varied exhibits fully showcase New Zealand's unique Maori culture and history, showcase New Zealand's natural and colonial development, showcase human exploration and cognition of Antarctica, and can learn more about New Zealand's historical culture.

The Museum of Canterbury is the largest museum in Canterbury, and it shows the history and natural resources of the city in all aspects. There are many fossils of paleontology and the life scene of the Aboriginal people, which is worth visiting.

The Canterbury Museum in Christchurch, New Zealand, opened in 1870 and features a collection of outstanding New Zealand collections. Highlights include the Maori Art Gallery, Antarctic Exhibition Hall and more. The exhibits include small canoees used by people who suffered shipwrecks on Disappointed Island in 1907, a wide variety of bird specimens from the Pacific Ocean and beyond, and sculpturally beautiful emperor penguins. There are also exploration centers that children will love and colorful "Ferred and Mertel's abalone shell cabin" crafts, ingenious artwork is worth stopping to watch. This museum has changed my traditional understanding of the museum, that is, solemn and dark, but in fact, the Canterbury Museum pays more attention to strangeness, fun and experience, and many parents take their children to study and play in the museum, which is a paradise.

After being shut down for a while after the earthquake, it is now reopened to the outside world. It's next to the Botanical Garden Forest Park. So we can visit together. No entry ticket, free, very rare. Because there are many places worth seeing and learning in museums. It is suggested to visit the Botanical Park in the morning and the museum in the afternoon when it is hot. It's very suitable for parent-child travel.

The shell house in the Canterbury Museum gives me the feeling of walking into the little mermaid's bedroom. It's so beautiful and fairy tale. Fortunately, I caught up with the time of no admission. It seems that Christchurch is the most English-like place besides Britain.

The Canterbury Museum is well worth visiting. It's free, but before entering the museum, it's best to invest a little money in the donation box to show Maori culture, New Zealand animals, Antarctic expeditions and so on. When we go, we also have a display of New Zealand Airlines.
