The Summer Palace, a royal garden in the Qing Dynasty of China, formerly known as Qinghui Garden, is located in the western suburbs of Beijing, 15 kilometers away from the city, covering an area of 3.009 square kilometers (of which the Summer Palace World Heritage Area is 2.97 square kilometers), and the water surface accounts for about three-quarters of the total.[31] It is adjacent to the Yuanmingyuan. It is based on Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, and based on Hangzhou West Lake. It is a large landscape garden built by drawing on the design techniques of Jiangnan gardens. It is also the most complete Royal Palace Royal Garden, known as the "Royal Garden Museum".
