Caprock Canyons State Park is located south of Palo Duro, across the Caprock cliff, with a spectacular 305-meter red sandstone cliff wall. The park is home to Texas bison herds, often seen in groups of bison, many bats also live here. In addition to animals, the park has more than 90 miles of trails for visitors to hike through the park and towering red cliffs to enjoy the magnificent views of the famous Texas landscape. Or swim or fish on the 120-acre Lake Theo while the weather is still hot.
