Chengde Mountain Resort, also known as "Chengde Ligong" or "Hot River Palace", is a world cultural heritage, national AAAA-level tourist attractions, national key cultural relics protection units, and one of China's four famous parks. The villa is located in the north of Chengde city center, Hebei Province, and is a long valley on the west bank of Wulie River. It is a place for the Qing emperor to escape the summer heat and deal with government affairs. The summer resort is divided into palace area, lake area, plain area and mountain area. The villa was built in 1703, and was announced as the first batch of key national cultural relics protection units in 1961; it was listed on the World Heritage List in 1994.
