CloudGate is a public art sculpture created by Indian-born British artist r in Millennium Park, Chicago, USA. It was built between 2004 and 2006 because of its pod shape, nicknamed “pod.” The sculpture is welded together by 168 stainless steel plates, and it shines beneath the surface without seeing the seams. It measures 10 meters in size and weighs 100 tons. Kapoor's design is inspired by liquid mercury, and the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's outline. Visitors can walk under the 4-meter-high arch at the gate of the cloud.
