The entire Colorado River is mostly located in the United States, mainly originating in the American continent of the watershed, the western Rocky Mountains, the dry current originates in the Rocky Mountains National Park, Colorado, and some tributaries originate in Wyoming, Nevada and New Mexico. Most originate in Sonora, Mexico. The dry stream flows from Colorado through Utah, Arizona, and then into the boundary river of Arizona-Nevada and Arizona-California.
