Since the Song Dynasty, Pingxiang in Guangxi has been the distribution center for trade along the border between China and Vietnam. The "Silk Road" in the south of China is a must-have place. The ancient city is a military fortress in the wartime of the pass and a commercial port in peacetime. In 1992, the State Council approved Pingxiang City as a city open to the outside world along the border, enjoying a series of preferential policies for development and opening up, and on December 19, 2008, the Pingxiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone in Guangxi was officially approved by the State Council.
