The Danube is the second longest river in Europe, flowing south-east from central Europe into the Black Sea. Vienna, Austria's capital, is on the upper reaches of the river, one of the largest cities on the Danube, and the river is smaller by comparison. The Danube, which runs through the centre of Vienna, looks inconspicuous and has few boats in the river.
