The town of Duz, located in southern Tunisia, is known as the "gateway of the Sahara" because of its closest proximity to the Sahara Desert, and the colorful 41st International Sahara Festival kicked off here on December 25, 2008. Many tourists come here to fully appreciate the unique style of the nomadic Sahara in Duz, and to applaud the Sahara Desert. Duz is an important stop for the Sahara Desert caravan.
