El Beso, "Kiss". Location in the alley opposite the Cathedral in Barcelona's Old Town. #Net red punch point This kiss wall was built to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the fall of Catalonia in the Spanish War of Succession on September 11, 1714. Photographer Hoan Foncavelta JOAN FONCUBERTA collaborated with the Catalan newspaper, which created a mural from photos provided by readers. The wall has 4,000 tiles spread across 50 lines, 80 tiles per line. They jointly form the image of kissing lips. It was installed in the private garden of nearby Isidro Noel, and although in principle it should be a short exhibition, the city council decided to keep it permanently. The mural was opened on July 3, 2014 by the mayor of Barcelona.
