Gerdeng Temple, located in the northwest corner of Aba County, Aba Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, was built in the Qing Dynasty, is a Tibetan Buddhist Gelu Temple, the Red Army Long March once stationed here, this is a very large-scale monastery, many Jingtang, Buddha Zun everywhere.

📓 Geldeng Temple is located in the northwest corner of Aba County, Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at an altitude of 3,300 meters, with a history of more than 120 years, and is the largest Tibetan Buddhist Gelu Temple in Aba County. The temple was built in Tongzhi 9 years (1870), its predecessor was Donggou Temple, and was the seat of the Red Army leadership during the Long March of the Workers and Peasants. 💗 Geldeng Temple is in Aba County, passing by or staying in Aba County, you can visit it on the way. We visited Lianbaoye the first day and returned to Aba County to stay. When we left Aba County the next morning, we went to Gerdeng Temple to visit. The Gerdeng Temple in the early morning is as magnificent as ever in Tibetan style.

In the county seat, the big monastery, the white tower behind is particularly eye-catching. The monastery is surrounded by a circle of barrel corridors, and there are tens of thousands of steps down. In Aba Tibetan area, there are many lama temples and they are shining, indicating the wealth of Tibetans today.

I didn’t expect that there is such a large-scale temple in the center of Aba County. It can be timed and not allowed. I can’t enter the house to visit.

No tickets, it is worth a visit. Fortunately, we went to the top of the tower and overlooked the entire Aba County. The administrative building of the Buddhist College was very stylish.

No tickets are required here. Many Tibetans go to the prayer wheel and are very religious. The hall was not opened, and it was a pity that they could not go in and see it. However, I saw the Tibetan Sutra Pavilion, visited it layer by layer, and saw a lot of Buddha statues.
