Hamburg is a very important port city in Germany, and the red exterior of the International Maritime Museum is very eye-catching. There is a very detailed information about the history of Germany and Europe, and it is worth visiting.

Amazing museum with 9 floors. You can see a lot of exhibitions about navy and ships. A lot pf interesting ship models here and the last floor shows the collection of ship models which is so nice. The museum is bigger than I thought can take up to 4 hours to visit everything

I enjoyed visiting here, learnt lots and appreciated the English translations on Exhibits. It felt very historically balanced. However, there are a lots of models and I didn’t feel quite as enthused, on leaving, as I did having visited the equivalent in Gothenburg. Gothenburg seemed to offer more human interest rather than just for your maritime geeks.

The museum has ten floors (plus halls) and half a floor between several floors. I spent about three hours walking around and finally got the rhythm of watching the flowers. This PDF () is a Chinese introduction, including the theme of each floor. Personal advice is that if you are particularly interested in history, you must go from the bottom up so that the comparison will not be confused. I went from top to bottom (just because it is easier to go downstairs than upstairs ==), when I went to the bottom few floors, one was out of time, and the other was that I felt that the chronological order jumped and jumped and I didn't bother to look at it. However, whether it is from top to bottom or from bottom to top, Must see the ninth floor. There are probably thousands of ship models on that floor, and the sea battles with ship models. Relatively, the eighth floor can be passed over quickly, because the first floor is basically about the sea and the ship paintings, it feels a bit similar. Of course, if you have time, look long.
