Lake Kasha Nature Reserve was established in 1984, promoted to state-level nature reserve in 1995, and was listed as a provincial nature reserve in 1998. Located in Chonggu Township, Luhuo County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province (close to G317, 42 kilometers east of Ganzi County), the southwest foot of Marigong Mountain is a freshwater lake formed in a low-lying area of a mountain depression. Lake Kasha is surrounded by mountains, the lake is blue and quiet, and there is light smoke and white mist floating on the lake in the morning, like a fairyland. Lake Kasha is a paradise for birds, black-necked cranes, yellow ducks, spotted scorpions, wild ducks are free to forage and play in the water. When there is no wind, the calm lake is like a huge mirror, casual glance, as if time will stop here, only the waterfowl up and down, swimming, in which to swing a circle.
