Christianson Pier, a place that has been a local transportation hub and trade gathering place for generations, is also a place where ships deliver local food to the city. There are two striking sculptures on the pier, one is the old woman of Klippfiskkjerringa The old women of clipfish,, symbolizing the city. The old woman held dry salmon in her hand, and looked firmly at the customers coming and going on the dock. Another sculpture opposite the Sild Gutten herring boy, a string of salmon in his hand, was selling at the dock. The pier also houses two ships, one of the RAPP cruise ships of Sundbåten (Saint Bottan), one of the oldest public transport vessels in the world, operating from 1958 to 2014 and is currently protected by the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Council. In the past, visitors could travel to and from the four islands of Christianson in about 20 minutes. An older ferry, FRAMNES, operated from 1917 until 2017. Another striking monument on the pier, a large mine mine from the First World War, has a Norwegian inscription: MINNE OVER SJOMENN FRA KRISTIANSUND SOM FALT UNDER VERDENSKRIGENE 19141918 OG 1939--1945. Translated into English as "Memory of seamen from KRISTIANSUND who fell during World War 1914-1918 AND 1939--1945", commemorates Christian Song sailors who died during World War I and World War II.
