Don't waste your time with this place. It's over hyped by the local Chinese people, but there is actually very little to do or see when you go here. It is set out in the same style as the forbidden city, but a lot smaller. There is little to no information for foreign tourists who want to learn about Confucius, and a lot of the old buildings and halls have been turned into shops and stalls, so that they can sell some tat and make more money. As with the forbidden city, you can't actually go into most of the buildings and you have to peer in through windows or from behind ropes. I guess the Chinese people have been taught the stories of Confucius, so they can relate to it more, but you can get more information about him and his life from a quick search on google. Expensive, pointless, waste of time!
