Maiji Mountain is located about 35 kilometers southeast of Tianshui City, Gansu Province. It is a strange peak in Xiaolu Mountain, at the western end of Qinling Mountains in China. It is 174 meters above sea level, but the mountain is only 142 meters from the ground. The shape of the mountain is strange, and the isolated peaks are like wheat straw. The southwest of the peak is a cliff, Maijishan Grottoes carved into this cliff, and hundreds of caves and Buddha statues on such steep cliffs are rare in Chinese grottoes. For this reason, Maijishan Grottoes is one of the four major grottoes in China, which is a key cultural relics protection unit in the country. It is also a national tourist attraction at the national level and is also a world-famous art treasure trove. On June 22, 2014, it was listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO.
