The Ming Tombs Reservoir is located on the Dongsha River, a tributary of Wenyu River in the north of Changping District, Beijing. The reservoir is close to the Ming Tombs area and hence its name. The reservoir was built in 1958 and is about 40 kilometers away from Beijing. It is a medium-sized reservoir for flood prevention, power generation, irrigation and fish farming.

After going up, you can see the entire Mingling Reservoir. Then you can go back to the main road of the mountaineering trail. On the ridge, you can watch the landscape while watching the mountains and rivers.
