This church is stunning. I usually try to make a trip to a local church in every foreign city I visit; this one was worth the wait. Without knowing it, I stumbled into the church in the evening when a children’s choir was performing. It being Christmas time, needless to say, it was magical. I didn’t want to disturb the concert, so made a mental note to return the following day when the cathedral would be empty. What gorgeous architecture. The ceiling of this place seemed endless. It was quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to spend a half hour admiring the design, even if most of the descriptions were in Norwegian. The church is surrounded by the sweetest yard-light snow had fallen on the ground. I would absolutely recommend this, even to people who are not particularly religious, because it’s hard to overlook the History and architecture in such a massive and beautiful place.
