The Jewish District of Prague is the most valuable Jewish historical monument in the world. The existing Gothic old and new synagogues are the oldest cathedrals in Europe. There is a unique old Jewish cemetery, thousands of tombstones are Renaissance and Baroque style. The residence and birthplace of famous writer Franz Kafka are also here. There are Pincus synagogue, Crowson synagogue, Moses synagogue, old and new synagogue, Spanish synagogue, and Jewish City Hall. The Jewish district has existed since the 11th century and has long been regarded as a slum with unsatisfactory public facilities and sanitation. In 1890, the Prague government ordered the reorganization of the Jewish environment, which was in the era of the prevailing Art Nouveau style. As a result, many new art forms and simple style buildings emerged as the times require. Most of the figure sculptures are simple cubist style.
