The Republic Square is next to the Old Town Iron Gate (West Gate), a community of buildings that mimics Venice's St. Mark's Square surrounded by restaurants and cafes, and the square is connected by a trail to the Iron Gate Street. The afternoon square was quiet, there were no square pigeons, only tourists leaning on their seats leisurely looking at the newspaper.
