Built in the late 19th century and popular with locals and tourists, the mosaic floors extend across the entire first floor area, impressive and apparently the largest in Australia. The shops are in an old and fashionable style, so it feels a bit like going back to the past when you walk through the arcades. Most of the shops are independent, not transnational, giving a weird but nice feel. The Hepton tea room near one of the entrances is well worth a visit as the cake is fantastic. Well worth a visit even if just strolling around.
