Shibaoshan Grottoes are a grottoes located in Shibaoshan, Jianchuan County, Yunnan Province. It is located on Shibaoshan, a branch peak, 25 kilometers southwest of the county. The grottoes were dug in the Nanxun (Tang Dynasty) and Dali (Song Dynasty) periods from the 9th to 12th centuries. At the time of the "consolidation of state and religion" in Nanxun and the prevalence of Buddhism in Dali, it reproduced the wisdom of the ethnic groups in the southwest, which are mainly Bai people. The grottoes are distributed in three locations: Shizhong Temple, Shadeng Village and Lion Guan. There are 17 caves, 139 bodies of statues, five links of monuments, and 44 other questions. The statue is carved on the red sandstone, and there are two categories of content: one is Buddhist theme, there are Buddha, Bodhisattva, Guanyin, Tianwang, Mingwang, Luohan, etc.; the other is secular theme, there are figures such as Nanxun King, Qingpingguan, and South Asian monks.

Jianchuan Shizhongshan Grottoes, the Buddhist art of Nanxun and Dali. The Dali Bai people call the Mijiao Ayulijiao, which is estimated to be written in Sanskrit Ayuli. Some scholars say that the Ayuli teaching originated in the early Ming Dynasty, which is really nonsense. From the grottoes of the eight Ming kings, Pishamen, and the big black sky statues can distinguish the secret only staying in the yoga department, which is comparable to Hami and Kawami. The art of the topless yoga department did not start to develop highly until the 13th century, and compared with the stone carvings of Feilai Peak in Hangzhou, the shrines displayed by Jianchuan are significantly different from those of the Tibetan Sakya or the Tangka of the Tanju monastery. The artistic expression of Shizhongshan sculpture is very similar to the Anyue and Dazu stone carvings seen at the end of last year. It may be further and more straightforward on the road of secularization, so I won't say more specifically. The later grottoes have been affected by the post-flooding period, and the form of hidden objects and hidden hides has appeared. The stone Zhongshan excavation period should be after Tang Kaiyuan, it is estimated that the Axel and Kaiyuan three taxis, Jihu, and lotus peanuts are contemporaries. I have always thought that the difference between the pre-floor and post-floor Tibetan secret is huge, and the stone Zhongshan grottoes seem to give some answers.

Shibaoshan branch vein, opened in 738 to 1253 AD, and a few Yuan, Ming era works. Shibaoshan is full of green pine, thick shaded path, overlooking Shizhongshan like the head, flower-like protrusions more like the head of the curly shell hair, perhaps the ancients because of the wonderful scenery and wish to open the cave.

Shizhongsi Grottoes is the most distinctive piece of the three grottoes (Shizhongsi, Lion Guan, Shadengyu) in Jianchuan, Dali, Yunnan. Shizhongshan Grottoes were founded in the late Tang Dynasty, and were carved from the fifth generation to the Southern Song Dynasty for more than 300 years. It has been more than 1,000 years since today, and there are eight caves in Shizhongsi Grottoes. The statues in the grottoes are exquisite and fine, colorful and lifelike; and the terrain is undulating, the architecture is majestic, the mountain shape is strange, outside of cultural relics and Buddhist culture, it is very ornamental value.

The grottoes are not large in size, but they are well preserved and very special, and they are worth the fare. The grottoes were dug from the middle of the 9th century to the second half of the 12th century, for the time of Nanxun and Dali, about our Tang Dynasty. Shibao Mountain is named because the red sandstone on the mountain becomes a turtle-like back crack, like a lion like a bell and like a Buddha first, especially the temple this boulder is like a clock, very strange. Photographing is prohibited in the grottoes, all photos are from the Internet~ The first grotto recreates the scene of political life in the court after the return of Nanzhao to Tang Dynasty in the late eighth century AD. The No. 2 Grottoes are magnificent palace-style carvings, showing the grand political scene of the "convergence of state and religion" discussion on the road of the fifth generation of the most heroic historical figure in Nanxun history, the fifth generation of the king, Luo Feng (in power from 748 to 778 AD). Grottoes 3, Grottoes of the Tibetan King ~ Grottoes 4, Huayan Sansheng, in Huayan Sutra, Wenshu Bodhisattva with wisdom, Puxian Bodhisattva to help Sakyamuni Buddha's Fa body Piluzhana Buddha (the tantra is as big as the day). Therefore, "Sakyamuni three Zun" is also known as "Huayan Sansheng". Grottoes No. 5, Shakya practice like. Folk commonly known as "sad face Guanyin", the background is a cliff, in which it is dotted with secular figures such as widowers, old men, piano teachers, children. Guanyin leans forward, looks down, his brows are slightly, and he gazes silently at the sad world. Grottoes No. 6, Mingwangtang, are the largest caves, 11 meters long. 3 meters high, the layout is strict, sitting in the middle of the Sakyamuni Buddha with a serene attitude, the left and right ribs are the two honored Ananda and Jiaye. Grottoes No. 7, Mannlu Guanyin, sitting like 1.52m high, left hand holding knee, right hand lifting, like holding Yangzhi, full body, round shoulders, With a strong atmosphere of secular life, its appearance is dignified, the eyes are kind, and it shows the generosity and kindness of Bodhisattva. Although the body has the characteristics of Bai women, the exquisite earpieces, arms, and bracelets absorb the nutrition of Indian Veda art, Known as "Venus of the East". Mann露 Guanyin looks dignified but not shallow, beautiful and intelligent, kind and compassionate but not light. Her chest was dug into a small rectangular hole, so the folk called her "Caesarean Guanyin". Grottoes No. 8, "Ayang Bai" is very strange. The carving is a high relief female Yin, which is said to be a relics of matrilineal society, rare in China.
