The anti-Japanese base area behind the enemy in eastern Zhejiang is one of the eight major strategies of Central China and the southeast outpost of Central China's anti-Japanese activities. It consists of four areas, namely, Siming, Guiji, Sanbei (north of Yuyao, Cixi and Zhenhai counties) and Pudong. It is located on both sides of Hangzhou Bay, between Shanghai, Hangzhou and Yong, bordering the East China Sea in the East and Dongyang-Ningbo Highway in the south, and on both sides of Jin (Hua) Xiao (Shan) line in the west, and on both sides of Huangpu in the north. With a population of 4 million, more than 10,000 people are armed against Japan.
