San Marco Plaza, the official standard translation of the name of San Marco Plaza, also known as the Venice Central Plaza, has been the public activity center of Venice's political, religious and traditional festivals. The square is a rectangular square surrounded by buildings such as the Duke's Mansion, the Cathedral of St. Mark, the Bell Tower of St. Mark, the new and old Executive Mansions, the Napoleon Wing Building connecting the two buildings, the quadrangle Bell Tower of St. Mark's Cathedral and the Library of St. Mark and the Grand Canal of Venice. It is about 170 meters long, about 80 meters wide to the east and 55 meters wide to the west. The buildings around the square are from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
