Located in downtown Melbourne, St Patrick's Cathedral is located in the garden at the intersection of Gisborne St and Cathedral PI in Melbourne. It is also the largest and tallest Catholic church in the southern hemisphere. The Gothic-style cathedral was built to commemorate 100 years of the Catholic Church in Victoria (Melbourne is the capital of Victoria) and was designed by the renowned British architect William Wardle in 1863. The church was officially opened in October 1897, but the three minarets of the church were not completed until 1939, and it took more than 90 years. The height of the minarets is105.8 meters, and the depth of the church is92.25 meters. The cathedral is built of bluestone, the exterior wall is undulating and concave, the color is dark and gray, and the Zhuang is grand and eye-catching, fully showing the architectural style of the Renaissance.
