The land was originally used by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years before British Columbia was colonized by the British during the 1858 Fraser Canyon Gold Rush and was one of the first areas to be explored in the city. For many years after colonization, the future park with its abundant resources would also be home to non-Indigenous settlers.The land was later turned into Vancouver's first park when the city incorporated in 1886. It was named after Lord Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby, a British politician who had recently been appointed Governor General. It was originally known as Coal Peninsula and was set aside for military fortifications to guard the entrance to Vancouver harbour. In 1886 Vancouver city council successfully sought a lease of the park which was granted for $1 per year. In September 1888 Lord Stanley opened the park in his name.

Half of my family live in Canada. They migrated there from Jamaica with their restaurant business several years ago. I like going there to visit them. Stanley Park is nice and clean and the people are pretty welcoming. You'd enjoy your stay here as a tourist and you'd enjoy the attractions surrounding the area. Canada is a really good country and I love going there.

    4/5Excellent

This park is amazing! The views of the water are visually stunning! The path is pretty clean and there is space for both cyclists and pedestrians. The wall around the entire park will take a very long time but I highly recommend walking the path rather than taking a bicycle to truly get to capture the beauty of the park. There are tons of places to sit, take pictures, and a couple beaches on the side as well

it’s a beautiful park in downtown Vancouver. surrounded by the sea it is worth visiting all year round. my favourite seasons to visit are spring when the cherries blossom, and summer when the rose garden is at its brightest moment.

Stanley Park at Vancouver it’s a very beautiful place, This is the first time for me came to visit here in winter season. I am very happy with this landscape and also took a lot of photos for memories. I went to a lot of places in Vancouver such as Cleveland Dam, Mount Seymour, Vancouver Aquarime, Granville Island, The Sandbar, Chinatown. ❤️❄️✈️

Stanley Park is an amazing destination, Located in Vancouver, Canada, it's a beautiful urban park that offers a perfect blend of nature and recreational activities. With its lush greenery, scenic views, and miles of walking and biking trails, it's a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is also home to the Vancouver Aquarium, where you can see a variety of marine life up close. Don't forget to visit the iconic Totem Poles, which showcase the rich indigenous culture of the region. Stanley Park is definitely a must-visit when you're in Vancouver! Have you had the chance to explore the beauty of Stanley Park? 🌳🌊🐟
